The hiking this morning was down right cold. Fortunately we had a shorter day of 14 miles planned. First thing, we hiked up to an elevation just over 3000 feet and were met with fog. At the top was a large cross, immersed in fog. While the photo won’t do it justice, it was somewhat of a surreal sight.
This morning was quite cold. We had an 18 mile day planned. We hit the road at 6:05 and quickly put down three miles. Considering it was just after 7:00 there was nothing open in the first village we came to. I was cold, so I zipped up on the pant legs to my convertible shorts. This was the first day I wore long pants and rolled down the sleeves on my shirt. Normally if it’s a little chilly when we first start out, I’m warm within the first 15 minutes. Even when trucking down the road today, I was on the verge of being cold.
Today we covered another 13 miles and ended in a quaint little town called Belorado. I usual routing ensued. Accommodations, food, and in this case sleep in the form of an hour and a half nap.

This morning was consistent with many others. We slept until 6 and hit the trail by 6:30. The weather forecast called for rain today. We had our rain gear on standby but as it would turn out, we wouldn’t need it. We didn’t get wet today! Continue Reading
I woke up this morning to roaring rain about 4 am. It took me a minute to realize it was rain as it was so loud. I hadn’t heard rain so loud in a long time. I rolled over with a groan of sore muscle and hoping the rain would move out of the area before we planned to hit the road. Continue Reading
